Rachel Collis has delivered high quality consultancy services to organisations throughout Australia. She is an expert in individual and organisational psychology. She has a commitment to providing practical interventions based on current relevant research.
Rachel has been a sessional academic at both Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University. She has been awarded the QUT Faculty of Business,Student Choice ‘Awesome Tutor’ Award in recognition of her “passion and enthusiasm in promoting and supporting student learning, the development of critical thought and ability to inspire students to achieve success.”
Rachel currently teaches Negotiation Skills on the Executive MBA program at QUT.
Prior to setting up her consultancy in 2002, Rachel was a Consultant Psychiatrist. She achieved both Membership of The Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) and Fellowship of Royal ANZ College of Psychiatrists. She has experience in leadership positions in both England and Australia.
Rachel has achieved qualifications in medicine, psychiatry, workplace training, mediation, arbitration and public speaking.
Rachel was one of 1000 professionals in 19 nations who, as part of the Authentic Happiness Coaching programme, were trained by Martin Seligman and other experts in the theory, assessments and exercises of Positive Psychology.
Rachel has a particular interest in solution-focussed coaching. This approach identifies and uses solutions, strengths and resources already present in a situation to produce rapid, positive change in groups and individuals.
Rachel is also trained in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Training) - an empirically supported approach to personal and professional development that has been shown to be effective in improving emotional intelligence, motivation and performance whilst also decreasing anxiety and stress.
